Perfect attendance paid off for Kaylee Duke after she spun the Prize Wheel and won a car.
After a drawing was held, 10 lucky students were selected to spin the Prize Wheel. It was Duke’s lucky 10 spin that gave the West Valley City junior the keys to a Honda Accord.
“This is my first car and I get my license in three weeks, so I’m just excited to start,” Duke said.
Other prizes were awarded during the November 26 special assembly at Hunter High School, including iPads, headphones and gift certificates.
John Welburn, the school principal, said the program to increase attendance was successful since the number of students with perfect attendance doubled compared to last year.
Welburn went on to say:
We hope to continue this program. We may not have another car donated but we will have prizes and we’ll do something similar to this.
