Trader Joe’s will celebrate its 50th anniversary at 467 stores across the U.S. on Friday, August 25. In-store celebrations will include special product tastings, games, giveaways and deals.
Shoppers at the Staten Island, New York location will have a chance to spin the Prize Wheel for prizes, enjoy product demonstrations and even take part in a dunk tank.
“These festivities are for thanking customers,” says a spokeswoman for the California-based chain. The gratitude reaches back five decades.
The first Trader Joe’s opened in Pasadena, California, on Arroyo Parkway on Aug. 25, 1967. That store is still going strong.
