The 3rd Annual Mardi Gras Dog Parade will be held on Saturday, February 3, in Austin. The event begins at 3PM at the ABGB (Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company).
All dogs dressed in costume can bark for beads and be registered for a chance to win a special raffle contest. The Prize Wheel, live music, and cajun food favorites like gumbo and andouille sausage will also be available. Pug Rescue of Austin will have adoptable dogs on hand.
Superior Health Foundation will celebrate its five year anniversary on Friday, September 1, with cake, lemonade and the Prize Wheel. The Marquette, Michigan organization will honor its accomplishments during an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We have an opportunity to help celebrate with the people who were part of our early beginnings,” said Executive Director Jim LaJoie. “Our board of directors have just been extremely outstanding, their vision, their leadership has just been incredible. We have had a number or loyal donors who have stood by our side, who have supported us in a number of different ways.”
Swarthmore Public Library rewards young readers with weekly spins on the Prize Wheel.
As part of the library’s reading club, kids log their total minutes reading. Then once each week the young readers can take a spin on the Wheel for a special prize.
The library, located about 15 miles from Philadelphia, will also host several performers and storytellers in the amphitheater located just outside of the library. These free events are for all ages and will be help each Wednesday.
